Activation of the C1 to C14 Monocarboxylic Acids by a Yeast

ABSTRACT

Cell extracts of a yeast grown on hexadecane contained a (C7 to C14) acyl-coenzyme A synthetase, acetyl-coenzyme A synthetase, and acetokinase.
