Inhibition of Spore Outgrowth and Vegetative Growth of Bacillus stearothermophilus by Dipicolinate, ^1,2

ABSTRACT

Spores of Bacillus stearothermophilus germinated in the presence of sodium dipicolinate (DPA) but did not elongate after the emergence stage of outgrowth. Vegetative growth also was inhibited by Na₂DPA.
