Isolation and Characterization of Plasmid Deoxyribonucleic Acid from Streptococcus mutans

ABSTRACT

A small plasmid with a molecular weight of approximately 3.0 x 106 and present to the extent of about 16 copies per chromosomal genome equivalent was isolated from Streptococcus mutans strain LM-7.
